• Heat pump starts and stops often. Change your air filter and keep an eye on your thermostat, as it might have to be recalibrated or it requires new batteries. When it’s cold and the heat pump is running constantly, the thermostat may be set too high. Also, certain heat pumps may struggle to work efficiently around 25 to 30 degrees Fahrenheit.
• Rattling, grinding or squealing sounds. If you hear a rattling sound, it might help to tighten the cover panels.
