Here’s What to Do When Your Furnace Won’t Ignite
We are making our way through the last of the weeks of winter but we still have to have our furnaces, especially during frigid nights. Not much is worse than going to bed at night just to realize your furnace won’t turn on. If this happens to you, here are a few things you can check yourself before calling Winnipeg Supply Service Experts.
Check Air Filters
You should change standard air filters each month. If you fail to do so, they can get clogged, restricting air flow and resulting in a furnace malfunction.
Check Your Thermostat
Start by turning the thermostat up a few degrees to get the furnace to turn on. If the current room temperature is higher than the thermostat, the furnace won’t kick on. Also, confirm the system switch is on “heat” or “auto.”
Check the Power
It may seem obvious, but confirm the power switch next to the heating equipment is “On.” Even gas furnaces use electricity so make sure the breaker has not tripped and that the power switch wasn’t accidently moved to the “Off” position.
If you check all these things and your heating equipment will still not turn on, give Winnipeg Supply Service Experts a call at 204-800-0613 and we’ll come out and get you heating again as soon as possible.
