4 Signs it's Time to Replace your Boiler

March 04, 2017

Is it time to replace your new boiler? Winnipeg Supply Service Experts is here with a couple signs to look for when choosing whether it’s time to purchase a new boiler.

Age

If your condensing boiler receives annual maintenance, you can expect it to operate about 15 years or so. Cast iron boilers can last a lot longer, even up to 50 years with proper maintenance. If your condensing boiler is close to 15 years or your cast iron boiler is almost 50 years, it may be time to consider an upgrade.

Bills

If your energy bills are increasing or you’re having to call an expert about your boiler more repeatedly, it could be because it’s time to invest in a new, more efficient boiler.

Discoloration

If you discover yellow flames on the gas burners and black soot on oil burners it could be a sign that the fuel is not burning properly and could be producing carbon monoxide. If you notice these issues or have any concerns surrounding carbon monoxide in your home, you should call Winnipeg Supply or your gas company as soon as possible.

Comfort

If some of the sections in your home are too cool or too warm and you can’t seem to control them correctly or get them comfortable, it could be that your boiler is not effective anymore and you could need to look into upgrade choices.
